Spring: Stripes!

Spring is wonderful. Birds chirping, colors everywhere-basically a Disney princess movie scene. But my favorite part of spring is probably the spring clothing.Pastels, floral's ,the revival of shorts while still being able to wear the blazer! This season gives no reason to complain. Spring'13 has also gotten me majorly excited.

The first trend that I'm going to talk about is Stripes. They have been big on the runways this season and with good reason (see what i did there :D). Stripes are the epitome of fashion architecture. You can use them to make you appear taller, thinner or even to accentuate in areas you may lack in.

Oscar de la Renta,Marc Jacobs,Christian Dior, Balenciaga have all advocated these trends these seasons.

The best thing about this trend is it can ct inches on whilst still being fashionable and it is very versatile. It can be worn on pants, skirts, shirts, blazers, dresses, shorts and even on accessories like a head or a bag!!
Black and white stripes are a classic!

Vertical stripes can thin you down

Horizontal stripes are perfect for people who lack curves

It can be worn in accessories and shoes too!!

For people with the apple type body shape(broader on the top) vertical stripes can be used to even out the curves.
These can be incorporated in a chic blazer, knitted cardigan or a shirt.

Going sheer and stripes will be hitting two birds with one stone

Experimenting in fun designs and layering is also a good idea

Stripes are adorable in any color, specially signature spring candy hues!
If you have a pear type body shape(broader on the bottom, vertical stripes can be used in a similar way to balance your figure.

The asymmetrical hemline is also a hit this season

Experiment with color and design

If you are petite you can give an illusion of curves by using horizontal stripes on the bottom or the top.

The size of the stripes and distance between them can vary

Crop tops + stripes= Spring!

Have fun with the trend and don't forget to experiment with colors , shapes and sizes!!
Have fun with it!
